What are PDO Threads?
PDO threads are a non-surgical treatment that uses biodegradable sutures (made of Polydioxanone, a material safely used in cardiac surgery for decades) to lift and tighten skin that has lost elasticity.
There are various types of threads: lifting/barbed threads mechanically lift and reposition sagging tissue, while smooth/mono threads are placed to create a mesh-like scaffolding just under the skin. Over the next 4–6 months, the body naturally absorbs the PDO material, while simultaneously triggering a powerful natural response of neocollagenesis (new collagen production) around the thread, resulting in a firming, lifting, and tightening effect that lasts long after the threads have dissolved.

Is there any pain during the procedure?
No. We use local anesthetic to completely numb the treatment area before thread insertion. You may feel a sensation of tugging or pressure, but the process itself should not be painful.
What are the restrictions after the treatment?
You must avoid strenuous exercise for 1 week and avoid facial massage, dental work, or opening your mouth wide for 3-4 weeks. It is also advised to sleep on your back for the first week to prevent putting pressure on the threads.
Can the threads be felt under the skin?
Once the initial settling period (1–2 weeks) is over, you should not be able to feel the threads. The material is designed to integrate seamlessly into the skin’s structure.
How quickly are the threads absorbed by the body?
PDO threads are safely and fully absorbed by the body through a natural process called hydrolysis, typically taking between 4 to 6 months.
Can I combine threads with other treatments?
Yes, PDO threads work exceptionally well with other treatments. They are often performed in combination with dermal fillers (for volume) or Botox (for line smoothing) to achieve a comprehensive, full-face rejuvenation plan.
